The number one seeded Denver Broncos and number one seeded Carolina Panthers will meet in the Super Bowl in 2016. This is the third straight Super Bowl in which both number one seeds have advanced to play in it.
The 17-1 Carolina Panthers are looking like a team of destiny. Coming out of no where to dominate all who oppose them. There team is led by the more than likely MVP of the league, Cam Newton. This is not Newton's first rodeo. Newton's 12-4 team lost in the first round of the playoffs in 2014 and lost in the divisional round the following year. The former number one pick has advanced this team further and further every year along with a stout and confident defense that exuberates swagger.
The defense boasts an awesome linebacking core consisting of Luke Kuechly and Thomas Davis Jr.. Kuechly has caught an interception for a touchdown in each of the playoff games this year, while Davis has made big tackle after big tackle. Davis appeared to break his arm in the NFC Championship game, but is still expected to play in the Super Bowl 13 days from now. The defense also has the arrogant and outlandish corner Josh Norman who's name you havent heard to much this postseason, partly because he is shutting down his receiver and quarterbacks would not dare throw to him.
Carolina beat the Seattle Seahawks 31-24 in the first round and routed the Arizona Cardinals 49-15 the following round.
The 14-4 Broncos traveled a rougher road as opposed to their Super Bowl counterpart. They too possess a former number one overall pick in Peyton Manning. Yes, the 39 year old quarterback is making his 4th Super Bowl appearance, hoping to win his second. There is no need to get into the many accolades Manning has accumulated over his illustrious career. He is a sure-fire first-ballot Hall of Famer and will go down as one of the best quarterbacks of all time. Peyton had some adversity this year, being benched for Osweiler and dealing with some injuries that lingered throuhgh out the year. Yet, he is still here. Just a testament to his greatness. If you thought the Panthers defense was loaded, check this one out. The Broncos defense has been ranked 1st overall all year long and literally have a defense with no holes. They are great at all levels of the defense. Demarcus Ware and Von Miller will cause a ruckus on Super Bowl Sunday, while Aqib Talib and Chris Harris are on the back end of the defense.
The Broncos have not dominated in the fashion the Panthers have this postseason but still got the job done. They beat the injury-riddled Steelers 23-16. They moved on to defeat the defending champion Patriots the following round 20-18.
